Claude Chat Tools - Chrome Extension

What This Extension Does

Claude Chat Tools helps you search through your Claude.ai conversation history and export conversations to various formats. It works entirely within your browser using your existing Claude.ai session.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device:

• Search Index: A SQLite database stored in your browser's IndexedDB containing your chat titles, timestamps, and message content to enable full-text search.
• User Preferences: Your settings (such as search filters and UI state) are stored in Chrome's local storage.

This data never leaves your device. There are no external servers, databases, or cloud storage involved.

Data Collection

We do not collect any data. Specifically:

• No personal information is collected
• No analytics or tracking
• No data is transmitted to us or any third party
• No cookies are set by this extension

How Data Is Accessed

The extension accesses your Claude.ai conversations by making requests to Claude.ai's API using your existing browser session. This is the same data you can see when you visit claude.ai directly. The extension:

• Only accesses data you already have permission to view on claude.ai
• Uses your existing authentication (no separate login required)
• Does not store or transmit your Claude.ai credentials

Permissions Explained

The extension requests the following permissions:

• Host permission (claude.ai): Required to fetch your conversation data from Claude.ai's API
• Storage: Required to store the local search index and your preferences
• Clipboard: Required for the "Copy" feature when exporting conversations
• Tabs: Required to detect when you're on a Claude.ai chat page
• Alarms: Required for periodic background sync to keep your search index up to date
• Offscreen: Required to run SQLite operations for the search index

Data Deletion

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by:

• Uninstalling the extension (removes all data automatically)
• Clearing your browser's extension data

Third-Party Services

This extension does not use any third-party services, analytics, or tracking. The only external communication is with claude.ai to fetch your own conversation data.

Children's Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date below. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
