Claude Chat Exporter is a browser extension that exports your Claude.ai conversations to Markdown, JSON, or plain text.

Data Collection

This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any user data. Specifically:

• No personal information is collected
• No browsing history is tracked
• No analytics or telemetry data is gathered
• No data is sent to any external servers

How the Extension Works

When you use the extension:

• It reads the current Claude.ai chat URL to identify the conversation
• It uses your existing Claude.ai session (cookies) to fetch your conversation data directly from Claude.ai
• All processing happens locally in your browser
• Exported content is either copied to your clipboard or saved as a file on your device

Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

• activeTab: To detect when you're on a Claude.ai chat page
• clipboardWrite: To copy exported content to your clipboard
• scripting: To run the export functionality on Claude.ai pages
• Host permission (claude.ai): To fetch your conversation data from Claude.ai using your existing login session

Third Parties

This extension does not share any data with third parties. The only external communication is between your browser and Claude.ai (Anthropic) to fetch your own conversation data.
